Process Management? Don’t Even Start

I used to proudly tell people at parties that I “worked in BPM.” The blank stares never stopped me from passionately explaining the value of process-oriented work. Fast forward 25 years, and I now avoid the term “process management” altogether. After all, every organization engages in process management, most just don’t realize it. Imagine if they suddenly started mapping processes, investing in a BPM suite, or, even worse, establishing a process center of excellence… That’s the last thing you’d want.
In this session, I will share my perspective on process management, a journey through my career, from an enthusiastic process fanatic eager to apply every theory, to someone who helps organizations truly gain control over their processes. Along the way, I have used various methods, techniques, and tools from the extensive process management toolbox (though no one really needs to know that).
Beyond my work, I share my insights, expertise, and opinions via www.procesje.nl . As “Emiel from Procesje,” I will deliver this presentation, a serious message with a touch of humor. After all, I do enjoy being in the self-spotlight.
